Albert Josiah was born 3 November 1847 in Shelby, Orleans, New York and married 15 July 1873 Hillsdale, Hillsdale, Michigan, Emily Louisa PHILLIPS, the daughter of Jeremiah PHILLIPS and Hannah Webster CUMMINGS. She was born 24 December 1850, in Jellasore, Orissa, India, and died 16 June 1930. Albert died 30 July 1924, in Leaf River, Wadena, Minnesota.
He was an ordained minister of the Free Will Baptist Church, now of Evansville, and spent nine years as a missionary in India. During the Civil War he served in the 5th Wisconsin Battery, from December 1863, to the end of the war.
