Edward was christened 15 May 1579 in Bilton Ainsty, Yorkshire England, and married 1 October 1604, in , Yorkshire, England, Mary TAYLOR the daughter of William TAYLOR and Sarah ROGERS. She was born about 1583 of Bradford, Yorkshire England and was Buried 23 May 1626, in Bradford, West Riding, Yorkshire England. Edward was buried 4 February 1614, , Yorkshire, England.

Edward JOWETT (1580-1615) of Bradford in West Riding, Yorkshire, "gentleman", (probably son of William Jowett buried at Bradford Feb. 17, 1604, and the "Widow Jowett" buried there May 27, 1613) married in Bradford, Oct. 1, 1604, Mary Tayler, sister of Samuel Tayler, and daughter of William Tayler who was buried at Bradford, in the church, July 12, 1616. Edward Jowett was a "clothier", a manufacturer of woolen cloth employing many families. He had substantial holdings, leaving generous bequests to his children although persecution common to the times seems to have fallen hardest on the clothiers, many of these being descendants of Dutch and French Protestants. His will was executed Feb. 2, 1614, and prov, by his widow July 12, 1615.

                              1661, Ann, dau. of Bozoan Allen, and several 
                              children are recorded.

                              apparently the same as the John Jewett of
                              Rowley and Ipswich, Mass., who married 
                              (1) April 2, 1661, Elizabeth Cummings; and
                              (2) Elizabeth (How) Chadwell; 13 children.

               viii. William, bp. Dec. 25, 1642.
