Robert Laurin Westcott was born August 26, 1909 in Chicago. He died March 29, 1983. His first wife's name was Lucille. They divorced and he later married Leona Young and they lived in the village of Kendall (near Gobles). Around 1939 or 1940 they moved to Ypsilanti, Mich. where he went to work at the Willow Run Manufacturing Plant (near Detroit). Willow Run began building airplanes for the war. Early in the war Bob enlisted in the Navy Sea Bees. The Sea Bees built buildings, cleared land, constructed airports and landing strips on many of the islands thru out the South Pacific. When he returned home from the service he and Leone continued to live in Ypsilanti. They had two children, Jack and Pattie. Jack was shot and killed at the age of 14 by a neighbor playmate who was carelessly playing with his policeman father's service revolver. Both Bob and Jack are buried in the Kendall Pine Grove Cemetary. I'm not sure where Leone is buried or when she died.
A lot of this really took some hunting. Cemetaries, Anna Westcott's records and calling my sister in law Jean. Hope you have fun. This is Lou now - I know you told me about a web site and you should know that me and computers don't always get along. I never could find the right site. Oh well I'll try again when I cool down.
