My Aunt Esther was born in 1907. She was 20 yrs. younger than my grandmother, Maude, her sister. So she was close friends with my Dad. They moved to California before I was born and lived next door to Maude. We lived on the back of the same property in Van Nuys, California. Esther married Eugene Dolliver. They had a walnut orchard, and Maude and Louis had an apricot orchard. We all shared the same yard and it was fun growing up with all the family around.

Esther and Eugene Dolliver's son Eugene went by the name "Nick". We lived next door growing up and he was only 8 months older than I. We played together and were best friends. When he died his family was gone except for me and my mother and sister. He had recently been up here with us so we had him buried here on the family homestead. He never married and died at 53.
