Alta Lorena was born 27 September 1867 in Casco Twp, Allegan, Michigan, and married 28 May 1884 in South Bend, St. Joseph, Indiana, Alexander Horace QUICK the son of John QUICK and Phoebe BURKE. He was born May 1854 in New York and died in 1937 in , St. Joseph, Indiana.
He had been previously married 20 January 1875 to Martha A. MOORE, and had three children by this marriage: 1. John C. 2. Jessie W., and 3. Arthur.
Alta died before 1930 in Penn Twp., St. Joseph, Indiana.
G 1672 Samuel QUICK (?)
H 2661 John QUICK (G1672) b: about 1821 in New Jersey. His father and mother died when he and sister Charlotte were quite young. An aunt, named MILLS, raised them. John married and had 2 children in New Jersey. Then within a week his wife and both children died, and within another week, his livery stable burned up and he was penniless. Later he went to Syracuse, and there married Phoebe BURKE about 1852. They lived there until 4 children were born, then went by train to Niles, Michigan, and all walked 10 miles to South Bend, Indiana, then 9 miles southwest to home of friends, where his son Samuel, and daughter Charlotte, were born.
