John or Johannes SCHAEFFER was baptized at 9 Sep 1771 at the Stone Arabia Church in Palatine Twp., Montgomery County, New York. He married first 5 April 1795 Dorothy, the daughter of George STAMM and Anna Eva BELLIN or BELLINGER. Dorothy died sometime between 2 June 1805 and 26 March 1806, the first date being that of the birth of her last child and the second the marriage date of Johoness's second marriage to Maria BEISSER or BELSSER at Sharon Twp., Schoharie, New York. He lived out his life in New York and was a solder in the Revolution.
