Joseph was born 1645 in Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts, and married first about 1680, in Massachuxetts, Mary _______. She was born about 1655 and died 1624 in Massachusetts. Joseph died October 1724, in Taunton, Bristol, Massachusetts.
Joseph resided in Taunton on the Westside of Scaddings Pond. No date of his birth has been found. He was a soldier in King Philips War and was wounded in the "Swamp Fight". He is mentioned in the Plymouth Colony records as one of those who were paid for killing wolves. He was a large owner of lands in the vicinity of Scadding's and Watson's ponds.
Joseph White, son of Nicholas and Susanna (Humphrey) White was a resident of Taunton, and the owner of much property in that town in the vicinity of Scaddings pond and Watson's pond. He served with the Massachusetts troops during King Philip's War, and was wounded in the Swamp fight.
