Thomas was baptized 15 June 1606 in Walten-apud-Stone, Hertfordshire, England and married 11 Dec 1632 in St. Helens Bishopsgate, London, England, Thomasine DOWSETT, the daughter of Gabriel DOWSETT and Mercy. She was born about 1614, in Harlow, Essex, England, and died 30 January 1683 in Newbury, Essex, Massaxhusetts. Thomas died 21 December 1682 in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts.

Thomas Hale, who with his wife Thomasine and son Thomas came to Newbury. Mass., from the parish of Watton-at-Stone, Hertfordshire, England, in 1635, and removed to Haverhill, Mass., in 1645, where he was a land owner, a selectman in 1646, and in 1647 was chosen by the town "to try small causes." In 1648 he was appointed to keep a ferry and in 1649 was elected constable, the first chosen in Haverhill. He returned to Newbury in 1652 and in 1657 removed to Salem, Mass., where he remained until shortly before his death. In 1659 his name appears among the glovers in the" Annals of Salem." He died in Newbury, Dec. 21, 1682

His father Thomas HALE, bapt. 1606, Watton, England; Sergeant Newbury Militia Company; m. 1632, St. Helens, Bishopsgate, London, Thomasine DOWSETT. His father was Thomas HALE, who m. Joan KIRBY. Mary HUTCHINSON was the dau. of Richard HUTCHINSON and Alice BOSWORTH, his wife, and gd. dau. of Thomas HUTCHINSON, who was descended in the eighth generation from Bernard HUTCHINSON of Cowlan, York, and his wife Alice.
