At his home in Wasioja township, June 28, 1905 of Lupus, Irving L. Osborn, aged 52 years, 5 months & 5 days.
Mr. Osborn was born in Kingston, Green Lake Co. Wis., Jan 23, 1853. He was the oldest son of a family of eight children, born to Luther B. & Margaret Osborn. In 1863 they moved to Dodge County where Mr. Osborn has since made his home, except 2 yrs spent in S. D.
On July 12, 1876, he was united in marriage to Augusta O'Bleness of Concord. To them were born six children. He was a man of strict integrity & upright character; a good husband & father. As a neighbor he was highly respected by all. On Jan. 5, 1904 he was taken with hemorrhage of the lungs. Since that time he has been a very great sufferer, but he has born his suffering with utmost patience.
Besides a loving wife he leaves 4 daughters & 2 sons. Mrs. Floyd Parker, Mrs. Bert Severance, & Mrs. Earl Mason, of Dodge Co. & Mrs. Clarence Tainter of Winona county. George & John at home. Also a mother, 4 brothers, & 3 sisters. Howard O., of Portal, N.D., Charles Newton, Nat. E., & Geo W. of West Concord. Mrs. A. M. Ayers of St. Paul, Mrs. W. M. Randall of West Concord, & Mrs. N. K. Campbell of Milton. All the children except Mrs. Tainter were present when he passed quietly away on the evening of the 28th.
The funeral services were held in the Congregational church Friday afternoon, conducted by the member of the A. O. U. W. lodge of which the deceased was a member. Rev. W. C. Lee of West Concord, preaching the sermon & the remains laid at rest in Riverside Cemetery. He was also a member of the Yeoman lodge of this place.
We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to many friends & neighbors & especially to the AOUW who so kindly assisted us during the illness & death of our husband & father.
George Irving Osborn, 83, died unexpectedly at his home here Thursday, Aug. 10, of a heart attack. A native of South Dakota, Mr. Osborn was born June 18, 1884. He married Anna Mae Lent Nov. 6, 1907 at Mpls. She died in June 1956.
Mr. Osborn had been a bulk oil agent here for many years & had also been employed at the canning factory.
He is survived by one brother, John, of Van Nuys, CA; 6 sons, Delos of So. St. Paul, Richard Sr. of Dodge Center, Everett of Presque Isle, ME, Ross of Waseca, Earl of Louisville, KY., & James of LeRoy. 10 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, Avis & 4 sisters.
Funeral services were held Sunday in the First Congregational Church with the Rev. Gordon Heriot officiating. Mrs. Donald Nelson of St.. Paul was organist & Mr. Nelson was soloist. Bearers were Hilton Shuster, Clayton Loutzenhiser, George Gilman, Edgar Shaw, Bertil Nelson, & Eugene Nelson. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.
The Corey Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
