William was born about 1654, Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut, and married 1679, Simsbury, Hartford, Connecticut, Mary CASE, the daughter of John CASE and Sarah SPENCER. She was born 22 Jun 1660 in Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut and died 22 August 1725 in Simsbury, Hartford, Connecticut. William died 1 August 1697, in Simsbury, Hartford, Connecticut.
II. Mary Case was twice married:
1. To William Alderman, of Simsbury, 1679 . He died 1697.
2. To James Hillyer, of the same town, March 30, 1699.

(I) John Case, founder of the American branch of the Case family, was a native of England, and emigrated to America in the early settlement of the colonies, coming to Windsor from the old family home at Aylesham, England, where many of them now reside. They were a noted family as far back as the time of Oliver Cromwell, and accumulated fortunes by furnishing leather for his army, being tanners and farmers. John CaseCase remained in Windsor until the spring of 1669, when he removed to Simsbury, and settled at Weatogue. He was elected the first constable of Simsbury, October 14, 1669, and about 1672 represented the town at the general court or assembly. He was a landowner and farmer, and a prominent citizen. He married (first) Sarah, daughter of William Spencer, of Hartford. She died November 3, 1691. He married (second) Elizabeth (Moore) Loomis, born at Windsor, 1638, died July 23, 1728, daughter of John Moore, of Windsor , and widow of Nathaniel Loomis, of Windsor. He died in Simsbury, February 21, 1703-04, and was buried there. Children of first marriage:

2. Mary, born June 22, 1660, died 1725; married (first) William Alderman; (second) James Hillyer.
3. John, born November 5, 1662, died 1733; married (first) Mary Olcott; (second) Sarah Holcomb.
4. William, born June 5, 1665; married Elizabeth Holcomb.
5. Samuel, born June 1, 1667, died 1725; married (first) Mary Westover; (second) Elizabeth (Owen) Thrall.
6. Captain Richard, born August 27, 1669, died in 1746; married, in August, 1701, Amy, daughter of Philip Reed, of Concord, Massachusetts.
7. Bartholomew, born in October, 1670, died 1725; married Mary Humphrey.
8. Joseph, born April 6, 1674, died August 11, 1748; married Anna Eno.
9. Sarah, born August 14, 1678, died 1704; married Joseph Phelps Jr., of Windsor.
John Case married (first) about 1657, in Hartford, Connecticut. Sarah, daughter of William and Agnes Spencer, one of the settlers of Hartford, Connecticut. She was born 1636, died November 3, 1691, at Simsbury, Connecticut. He married (second) in Windsor, Connecticut, Elizabeth, daughter of John and Abigail Moore, of Windsor, Connecticut, widow of Nathaniel Loomis, of Windsor. She was born about 1638, died July 23, 1728. John Case died February 21, 1704, in Simsbury, Connecticut. Children by first wife:

Court Record, Page 32--7 May, 1717: Upon motion of William Alderman, of Simsbury, desireing that Adms. be granted on the estate of his father, William Alderman, late decd., this Court issue a writ to cite Mary Hillier to appear.
Page 41--6 August, 1717: This Court grant Adms. on the estate of sd. William Alderman, sometime of Simsbury, unto his son William Alderman of sd. Simsbury.
Page 126--3 May, 1720: William Alderman, Adms., exhibits an account of his Adms. This Court order him to sell some lands to pay the debts.
Page 52 (Vol. X) 4 August, 1724: Thomas Alderman of Simsbury, a minor, 18 years of age, chose William Alderman of Symsbury to be his guardian. Recog., £50.
Page 150--4 April, 1727: In pursuance of an act of the General Assembly holden at Hartford 27 May, 1720, impowering William Alderman, Adms., to sell so much of the lands of the decd. as may be sufficient to pay the debts due from sd. estate with the direction of this Court, the sd. Adms. is directed by this Court to sell one parcell of land lying in Simsbury on the east side of Simsbury East Mountains, containing 10 acres, lying on the north side of John Roberts's farm.
I, Mary Hilyer, widow, of Symsbury, do make this my last will and testament: I give to my three sons, William Alderman, John Alderman and Joseph Alderman, my lands, to wit: Two pieces or parcells lying and being in Simsbury aforesd. The first is a piece of pine plain lying on the west side of the river, containing 12 acres, known by the name of Case's Hollow, which was given to me by my father John Case decd. The other is 5 acres of marsh land lying under the West Mountain which fell to me by dist. of my father's estate. To be equally divided amongst them. And all my moveable estate excepting my wearing apparell. All of them I give to my daughter Elizabeth. And I appoint my well-beloved son John Alderman my executor..
