Preston was born 24 October 1910 in South Haven, Van Buren, Michigan. He married Barbara Jeanne M^cCOOK 18 March 1933 in South Bend, St. Joseph, Indiana. They having eloped with her sister and her fiance to save their parents the wedding expence, thus having a double wedding Preston to Barbara M^cCOOK, and Louis Harlin LOOMIS to Virginia Louise M^cCOOK. She was born 12 March 1913 in South Lyon, Oakland, Michigan and died 7 May 2004 in Sedro-Woolley, Skagit, Washington, Preston died 26 January 2000 in Friday Harbor, San Juan, Washington.

Preston spent 35 years with Uniroyal, Inc., the last 12 as manager of the Off-the-Road Tire Product Development Division.   Retired 14 years ago.   He and Barbara have two Children and nine grandchildren and are "building our third home, on San Juan Island in the Puget Sound, sailing, fishing and enjoying riding on the Washington Ferry System."   A recollection:   "Remember the 'rumpus room' of Stockbridge Hall stracked high with cots, bedding and mattresses when we came back from a basketball game one night?"   Message for classmates, "It is still nice to be in the world but not of it!   It is not the same world we shared as students."
