Note from age range we can calculate that Stephen was born:
between 1765 to 1784; from the 1810 census.
between 1775 and 1794; from the 1820 census.
between 1770 and 1780; in the 1830 census.
between 1780 and 1790 in the 1840 census.
and æ 70 in the 1850 census.
Thus when combining the above calculations Stephen would have been born after 1775 and before 1780 and since we know his brother Hardy was born in 1777, I would say that he was probably born close to 1779. Since Err's first wife died around 1784 and he married Mercy WRIGHT his first cousin in 1785, we can safely say he is a child of Err's first wife.                                                             Robin G.
