Hardy was born 23 March 1777, in Newbury, Orange, Vermont, and married 9 November 1800 in Newbury, Orange, Vermont, Lucretia CLARK, the daughter of John CLARK. She was born about 1780 and died 26 April 1842, in Orange County, Vermont. Hardy died 26 May 1850 in Haverhill. Grafton, New Hampshire.

Hardy3, (Er2, Richard1) b. March 23, 1777. Farmer, Kept the toll
bridge at Wells River for many years. He married November
9, 1800, Lucretia, daughter of John Clark, who died April
26, 1842, aged 68 years, He died while asleep in the
afternoon, May 26 1850, and his daughters, Melinda and
Sarah kept the toll bridge till the former died.

John is said to have come from England to America, and to Newbury
from Bridgewater, New Hampshire, with his wife and four
children. There were others who never lived here. He died
February, 1804, and his wife in July of the same year.
