Perhaps the Huguenot Society may be helpful in your search for Gillard. I've recently learned of a variant spelling for Gaylord/Gailliard French Huguenot:
Vol 5 No 2 Aug 1984 THE SECOND BOAT article by Dr. Saunders from Register of Qualified Huguenot Ancestors, National Huguenot Socity 1983, p. 30). The Second Boat WAS published by Rosemary E. Bachelor, Mary H. Dormer, P.O. Box 398, Michias, Maine 04654.
\\par page 59 "Although Richard Treat is not accepted as a Huguenot himself, all of his descendants are eligible for membership in the Society because of his wife's family. Nicholas Gaillard (Gaylord) was naturalized in England in 1537, having gone there from France. His son, NHugh Gaillard, was buried Oct 21, 1614 in Pitminster, County Somerset, England. Hugh's daughter Alice Gaillard (Gaylord), was bapt. May 10, 1615. \\par Register of Qualified Huguenot Ancestors, National Huguenot Socty, 1983, p. 30)
