Crispin was born 26 November 1839 in Grafton, Lorain Ohio and married 23 June 1862 in San Bernardino, San Bernardino, California, Emma Cornelia HUGHES the daughter of John HUGHES and Elizabeth TITUS. She was born 2 May 1842 in Lorain, Lorain, Ohio and died 14 December 1890 in Payson, Utah, Utah. Crispin died 12 Jun 1908 in Springville, Utah, Utah.

Crispin TAYLOR was born 26 Mov 1839, in Grafton Lorain, Ohio and he married 23 June 1862, Emma Cornelia HUGHES.

Mr. TAYLOR worked in the government in Indian campaigns as a packer and he worked as a freighter. He helped build many roads through Arizona, Nevada, and Utah.

Crispin TAYLOR was the first cattleman to bring stock to Grand County. With two of his nephews, he brought a small herd to Spanish Valley in 1875. The Ute Indians were still very hostile and thwarted the TAYLORS' first attempt to establish a foothold. The TAYLORS managed to escape but the Indians kept their cattle. Mr. TAYLOR returned to the valley in 1879 from which time is dated the first permanent settlement.

Mr TAYLOR died 12 June 1908 in Springville, Utah, Utah. He was survived by the following children: J. C. TAYLOR, Mrs Emma Augsta SPERRY, Mrs. Ada DARROW, Mrs. Stella STEWART, Willard and Crispin.
