BIOGRAPHY:

David Adair of Pencarder Hundred, Deleware was a Loyalist. Property of all Loyalists was confiscated, hence the move to New Jersey. This was were all Loyalists families were impounded during the war. David's eldest son John, joined the New Jersey Volunteers and fought for the British during the Revolutionary War. He was captured by the rebels and imprisonned until the end of the war. In 1795, David moved his family to Ontario Canada land grants given by the crown to the Loyalists. John Adair and his wife Phoebe, nee Mills also moved to Ontario after his relief.
