2. Alexander McCOOK

Alexander McCOOK was born about 1845 in Cromkill, Antrim Ireland. He came to the United States in the Fall of 1848 with his parents, and enlisted in Company B of 6th Regiment of Michigan Infantry. He never married and thus has no children and died 20 October 1864 in New Oeleans, Orleans, Louisiana

Respectfully returned to the commissioner of Pensions.

Alexander McCOOK Co. B 6th Reg't Mich. Inf was enrolled Dec 16th 1862, and died Oct 20th at New Orleans La of Tyfus Malaria, from Sep to Oct 20 1864 he held the rank of Private and for that period the rolls show him present: Other records furnish nothing to add bearing upon this case.

The medical records show him treated as follows as of Sept 28 to Oct 1/64 Diarrhea chronic & loss of voice, and Oct 3 to 20/64 Typho Malaria loss of voice and chronic diarrhea, died Oct 20/64, cause of death Typho Malarial Fever. Nothing added found.
