Daniel was born 23 April 1719 in Windsor, Hartford Connecticut and married first January 1741 in Windsor, Hartford, Connectgicut, Naomi BARBER, the daughter of John BARBER and Jane ALVORD. She was born 16 January 1721 in Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut and died before 1760 in Amenia, Dutchess, New York.
He merried second About 1760 in Harwinton, Litchfield, Connecticut, Sarah PHELPS, the daughter of Daniel PHELPS and Sarah STRONG. She was born 1739 in Connecticut and died Daniel died 29 September 1775 in.
Daniel and Naomi lived in Windsor (the first 3 births were registered there) until about 1750, when they moved (before 1757) to Amenia, Dutchess Co NY. They had 6 children baptised at Amenia on 5 Jun 1757, namely: Martha, Mary, Elizabeth, Ruth, "Jooloomis", and Joseph. Daniel and Naomi were first cousins. They settled in Harwinton, CT about 1746, near C. S. Barber's place, and removed, about 1750 to or near Amenia, NY.
Daniel and Naomi Barber lived in Dutchess County NY for a period of time, where Daniel's name appears on the account book of Joseph Mabbett, indicating he purchased powder and a shovel, p. 177 Ref: National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Kenneth Scott, F.A.S.G. Some Dutchess County, New York, Residents, 1761-1763. June 1986, Vol.74, No. 2 p. 128-130
Two of their eight children were born in Harwinton, CT. The records of Dutchess County, NY give the following children of Daniel and Naomi Barber, all baptized June 5, 1757: Martha, Mary, Elizabeth, Ruth, Joolumis, and Joseph.
They returned from NY to Ct and in 1770 were living in Harwinton, but as to where the closing years of their lives were spent is an unsolved problem.
