Loss E Jones whose death occured at his home in the village of Saranac on Wed. May 18, 1898, was born on the 6th day of February 1819 at Fort Ann, Washington County, New York. In 1837 came with his parents to MI and located at Brooklin, Jackson County. He entered a law office at Jackson MI as a student and then took his exam at Hillsdale and was addmitted to the bar. He served as a member of legislature from Jackson County MI in 1847. In 1849 married to Abigail Jackson at Monroe, MI She with several children survive him and morn his loss. In the spring of 1850 he and his wife moved to Ionia where he practiced law and remained for the rest of his years
